Mrs. Jenny Coenen Phd Eng – Senior consultant

Jenny Coenen combines analytical skills, strong theoretic background and the ability to support teams whenever needed. Her ability to analyze risks combined with her extensive knowledge of engineering and shipbuilding processes, make her an invaluable asset to our team.

Jenny’s maritime career started in 2002 as a researcher at both IHC Dredgers (now Royal IHC) and TU Delft, section of Ship Production. Ever since she’s tried to combine academic and industry work in this field.

Before Marstrat, Jenny fulfilled a position as Senior Consultant Shipbuilding Processes at Bloem Doze Nienhuis, a maritime consultancy company based in Rotterdam. At this company she gained experience in business process modeling and shipyard layout and processes.

Today she combines her work as an assistant professor at TU Delft with her duties at Marstrat.

Areas of expertise

  • Business Process Modelling
  • Scheduling and Risk Management
  • Shipyard layout and processes
  • Development of training materials
  • Functional specifications of dedicated IT applications

The ICT infrastructure within our shipyard urgently needs an update. Technology is moving fast, and competition is moving on as well. Marstrat help us find new solutions, benchmark our systems and help us make the right choices in design tools, PDM and process management software.

Our problem is that we have too many systems running. Every piece of software has its advantages on its own. But together they should be furher optimized, thus avoiding failure costs and double efforts within our organization.
